For electric mobility to become affordable for everyone, the cost of electric drive systems needs to be reduced significantly. This requires massive efforts in research, development and innovation. The technologies for electric drives that are available today have to be improved by reducing the cost of the drive system, significantly increasing the power density and improving the power to weight ratio.   This needs to be accomplished while maintaining the high standards for reliability and quality.
