How will Germany assure that its skilled workers are prepared for the requirements of electric mobility?

The transition from combustion engines to electric mobility does not just require the development of a suitable infrastructure, high-performance battery systems or new vehicle concepts. From a wholistic perspective, the transition to electric propulsion will also change the established supplier and vehicle manufacturer structures and make new demands on technical staff. Therefore a sustainable introduction of this new technology is tied to training personell. The development of electric mobility throughout the entire value chain requires a large number of suitably trained stilled workers and specialists – and that goes for all of the areas mentioned. Both at the German universities as well as in vocational training, future-oriented degree and certification programs were created, which are continuously being adapted to the changing technical requirements. Furthermore, the topics of training and continuing education are part of the support programs for electric mobility such as the Electromobility Showcase program.
